8 Must See Artists at Parklife 2018
Probably the hottest weekend in the student calendar in Manchester. All your uni mates are going, and the majority of your mates from home have inevitably asked to crash on your floor for the afterparties. Parklife takes places at Heaton Park this weekend (9th & 10th June), and promises to be the biggest and best yet.
We’ve put together a list of 8 must see artists taking host to some of the stages at this year’s sold out festival, so if you’re one of the lucky ones with a ticket, we’d advise reading this…
Ever been Lost in Paris?
23 year-old Londoner Tom Misch, has been creating big waves on the hip-hop/jazz-disco scene for a few years now, and since the release of his debut album ‘Geography’ back in April this year, he’s been everywhere, so you’ve gotta check his set out.
Tom brings his summer vibes to the Sounds of the Future stage on Saturday afternoon, so wear your waviest Hawaiian shirt, grab a pint of Dark Fruits, and chill out to ‘Beautiful Escape’ & ‘Disco Yes’ in the Manny sun.
CALL ON MEEEEE (call me)
The legend himself, Eric Prydz knows how to deliver a drop, with ‘Opus’ probably being the biggest dance hit at festivals worldwide.
He killed the Steel Yard at Creamfields last year, and we’re expecting HUGE things from the man on the Saturday night in The Hangar, with a headline set that will no doubt be a summer highlight.
Just say you love me Jessie..
Saturday afternoon main stage is all about Jessie Ware, providing one of the best soul voices at the festival, and we for one cannot wait for her to play Parklife.
Jessie smashed her gig at the O2 Apollo back in March, so expect a set to remember.
Name a more iconic intro than ‘Intro’ by the xx, I’ll wait…
The xx bring their incredible live show to Parklife, and headline the Saturday night of the festival. They know how to deliver to a festival crowd, that’s for sure.
Go and see the xx, I Dare You.
Bringing the 0161 to Parklife this year…
Buzgy Malone is one of our own, the grime rapper was born and raised in Manchester, and has been a massive part of the new wave grime scene in the city over the past few years.
His set is going to go OFF *in the famous words of Alex from Love Island 2017*.
Catch Bugzy at The Valley on Saturday evening.
The man, the myth, the legend…
It wouldn’t be a festival without Mr Carl Cox, and that’s why you need to see his headline Sunday night set at The Valley.
Mr Cox will be bringing Ibizan sunsets and techno vibes to Parklife. What better way to end your weekend than with with a bang from Mr Cox!
Parklife Sunday evening, brought to you by MCR’s number 1 house duo…
WHP brought Solardo to Albert Hall last year, and this manny duo have been a major part of the city’s house music heritage since. No doubt you or one of your mates has had a heavy night at Solardo Sessions whilst being at uni, it’s a given.
Tribesmen is a TUNE, and we’re expecting naughty things from Mark Richards and James Elliot at Parklife.
Tooooniiiiiight I’m a rock n roll staaaarrrrrr
You couldn’t write it, Liam Gallagher headlines the Sunday night of Parklife 2018, and we’re obviously buzzing for him to walk on stage to ‘F***in’ in the bushes’.
Without a doubt the act to see this summer, so if you’re at Parklife this Sunday, the parka monkey is one not to miss.
Bucket hats & pretty green garms at the ready.
As you were LG x
