Beer Garden Weather: Best Pubs in Manchester

Loans have dropped, and the sun is finally out in Manny (it’s about bloody time) – happy days! FRESHR app have been around Manchester finding the best pubs and bars with beer gardens, so you’ve got another excuse for putting off revision.

Sinclair’s Oyster Bar

We’ve found this absolute gem for you lot just outside of the Arndale centre – think £1.50 pints, rowdy atmosphere & an ideal sun trap all day. Sinclair’s Oyster Bar is the place to be when the sun comes out, trust us.

The Courtyard

If you’re a student in Manchester, you’ve probably heard of The Courtyard right? Famously known for unreal burgers, cheap pints, pool and large sports screens showing every sport imaginable. But they’ve also got this mega beer garden out the back, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Postpone the revision/dissertation deadline (or bring the work with you?) and get yourself over to The Courtyard ASAP.

The Friendship Inn

Oh yes, Frenny, Fallowfield’s golden wonder. Get yourself an Old Mout Kiwi & Lime cider, take a snap of it, put it in your group chat and be that annoying mate distracting everyone from doing work – we’ll forgive you.

The Friendship Inn is a top shout for those living in Fallowfield, as they’ve got a good selection of bottled ciders perfect for enjoying the sun throughout the week, and drinks are cheaper on a Monday before 6pm? You’re welcome.

Oast House MCR

Once upon a time it was sunny in Manchester…. here's hoping for more of the same this #bankholiday so we can party at #Spinfest without an umberella!! #summerreignseternal

After 4 years of success as a pop-up tented bar in Spinningfields, Oast House has been a popular spot in the sun, and they’ve just undertaken refurbishment over the winter, opening up again last week, so you need to get here ASAP.

Expect live music every afternoon and evening, creating a cool festival vibe, giving us some much needed motivation to get through a final term full of exams and deadlines.

256 Fallowfield

256, the student hub of Fallowfield, has probably got the most impressive beer garden of all, and it’s in an ideal spot for anyone living in the Fallow/Withington area. Cheap pints, table tennis, speakers in the garden, and a BBQ on the odd sunny day, we couldn’t think of a better spot to grace the rare Manny sun.

To celebrate the sunshine, after a highly anticipated wait, FRESHR App now offers 2-4-1 Cocktails and 2 for £5 Cans (Brewdog & Rekorderlig) to help you make the most out of the sunny weather. Plus, if you need to soak up the copious amounts of Carling Dark Fruits in the sun, you can line your stomachs with 50% off Loaded Fries/Nachos on Tuesdays.

20 Stories MCR

Probably for the more sophisticated student, who won’t mind spending £10+ for a cocktail? (There are some honestly) – 20 Stories delivers top class views of the city centre, and it’s a guaranteed boomerang for your Instagram story, with your mates all pretending to be ballers for an afternoon; it’s totally worth it.

It’s also a great shout for taking a date (if you’re going halves) – it’s not cheap…

The Beer Studio

Located in the heart of Fallowfield, Beer Studio offers the widest variety of beer in Manchester, with over 60 different lagers, pale ales and stouts to choose from. We’d recommend trying one of their own branded bottled lagers, which will set you back just £1.80; party on Wayne.

The beer garden is ideal for a few cold ones, or for doing some revision in the sun, and with £2 Beers of the Week, £2 Nachos and Sunday Funday offers on FRESHR App (£2.50 Amstel, £2 Cask, £1.50 shots), it’d be rude not to…

Big Hands

Big Hands, located just off the University of Manchester campus (few yards up from the Academy), has the most quirky beer garden terrace in Manchester, giving you an escape from Oxford Road.

This is the perfect shout for a quick bevvie in the sun after a full day of revision/lectures, or if you’re just having a day session. They also have a cracking music taste, so you’re in good ‘hands’.

Rain Bar

Completely contradicting their name, Rain Bar, once an umbrella factory, is now the place to be when the sun is out. Rain Bar has an unreal sun trap looking over the canal, located on Bridgewater Street.

Drinks are reasonably priced for being in the city centre, and they have outdoor patio heaters when it gets cooler in the evening, so you can definitely do a 12 hour sesh here without feeling guilty.

So what are you waiting for? Get out in the sun, and head to one of these beer gardens in Manchester!
